Stress, tension and worries are very much commonly used words and very common phenomenon of life these days. It may be home or work place, it may be personal life or social life, it may be service or business, it may be male or female, it may be married life or unmarried life, it may be divorced life or separated life, it may be poverty or prosperity, it may be early childhood or youth or old age – in every segment of life whatsoever – people have been found to be crying for merely a piece of peace. In the process, it is observed that many talents have been lost, many lives have been sacrificed, many active, healthy and brilliant persons have been plunged into the deep, dark, directionless, closed, black pit of obscurity and depression.
In this novel, “ Captain of the Soul”, the author has picked up several snapshots of life in the present day society with Prof. Susomoy Chatterjee as the protagonist. Susomoy’s life has become a hell due to various types of stress, tension and worries which had forced him even to commit suicide. But in the midst of all negativities, some positive power had acted upon him and ultimately, he could soar to the top of success and touch the new heights in life.
